7.5 km - Governor's Beach to Moni coast
The coast between Governor's Beach and Moni (just east of Limassol) is characterised by white hard rocks and dark sand. Along the 7.5 km long coastline, there are many formations, rocky islets and even a few caves. Because of the geology and of the largely unspoilt nature of the coastline, it is an excellent place to explore on a kayak.
The rocky coastline is interrupted sporadically by tiny sandy stretches. It is a haven for those seeking remote sunbathing and swimming, away from the hordes of beachgoers.
The organised (200 meter wide) Agios Georgios Alamanos beach is found about 4 kilometers west of Governor's beach. There are two relatively large sea caves along the coast (just west of teh organised beach) which are however off limits in the last years. The reason is that it is believed that Mediterranean Monk Seals, an endangeded species with a global population of about 700 individuals and a local one of about 30, is thought to be using the caves. While we do not run standard kayaking trips along this coast, we are happy to offer customised kayaking trips here (please feel free to contact us).
Cyprus Walks Etc offers standard guided walking, kayaking, snorkeling, and multi-activity trips around Cyprus (one can book under Services). It also books customised trips.
